Teresa Cason, REALTOR® with Realty Executives-Bay Coast and founder of the new real estate team “Realtors with Heart” has teamed with Jessie Lennon, program coordinator of the Sussex County Big Brothers Big Sisters chapter to launch the COMPUTERTOTS/COMPUTER EXPLORERS® TechStars program. Cason currently donates 5% of her sales commissions to Big Brothers Big Sisters and has been an active Big Sister and role model for the past 3 years. “I wanted to do something special for the kids that would enhance their knowledge and allow them to have fun at the same time. Most do not have access to the same tools and technology that other children take for granted. The Computer Tots program is to help them advance,” stated Cason. There are approximately 42 children enrolled in Big Brothers Big Sisters and each child will go through the TechStars program with their sponsor. “Our goal is to have fun while learning and bonding” stated Lennon.

Some of the programs will include Bee-Bot and Roamer, programmable robots focusing on team building skills, problem solving techniques and math concepts, Digital Microscope focusing on the concepts of magnification, science, nature study and digital editing, Digital Movie Making enforcing artistic elements, creation of characters, costumes and set along with the use of movie cameras, digital editing and special effects, Amusement Park Adventure enforcing creativity and design elements and Dream Vacation allowing the children to explore the internet and Microsoft Office products assisting them with budgeting and presentation skills.
