Teresa “T.C.” Cason, REALTOR®, MBA and managing partner of the Realty With Heart team of Realty Executives-Bay Coast in Rehoboth Beach maintains the philosophy “Community is Key”. Aside from Cason’s busy real estate career, she remains closely involved in her local community and closely tied to her native DC community. Cason contributes 5% of her commissions each month to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sussex County and also makes a point to stay actively involved with the Mautner Project in Washington DC.

The Mautner Project, the National Lesbian Health Organization represents a community of caring. The Mautner Project’s mission is to ensure that lesbian, bisexual and transgender women receive equal access to quality health care and that they are not discriminated against based on their economic status or sexual orientation. The organization’s staff, volunteers and clients work towards improving health care for women through advocacy, education, research and direct services. In summary, the Mautner Project envisions a healthcare system that is guided by social justice and responsive to the needs of all people.

A strong supporter of the Mautner Project’s efforts, and a veteran board member of 3 years, Cason assists the organization however she can. “It’s difficult being a part of the organization and living so far away,” stated Cason. “There is so much I would like to do but cannot always find the time to travel to DC. In many situations I am only able to contribute monetarily however it’s important for me to continue to help however I can.”

Cason was recently one of the top supporters for the Mautner Project’s “Total Upgrade” fundraiser that raised money for an upgraded IT system. Having been a part of the information and technology industry for 20 years, Cason understands the importance of current software and computer systems and hopes that her contributions make a difference for the Mautner Project.
