3 Local Businesses are Preserving the Past for a Better Tomorrow
Sept. 23, 2007

The Realty with Heart Team, (www.realtywithheart.com) headed by Teresa “TC” Cason, Computer Explorers’ Jeanne DiAmico and Leanne Silicato Affeldt and Casey Kieffer of Make My Day Event Planning are teaming up with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Sussex County to bring Technology Education to the children of BBBS. The individuals have collaborated and organized the first – Preserving the Past for a Better Tomorrow – Scrapbooking Event scheduled for Sunday, October 28th from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Virden Retreat Center on the University of Delaware Campus in Lewes. A limited number of tickets will be available for $50 and will include a continental breakfast and lunch. During the event, the attendees will be provided with useful scrapbooking tips from scrapbooking consultants, plenty of space to work on their scrapbooks and an opportunity to purchase additional materials from a variety of vendors. Anyone attending the event will be directly supporting a “Computer Explorers” program for the local Sussex Big Brother Big Sisters’ chapter. This program will provide supervised and educational guidance, technology instruction and a positive and supportive environment for some of the at-risk children in Sussex County. The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to be the prime volunteer mentoring source for helping at-risk children who need additional companionship and guidance. Big Brothers Big Sisters continually recruit and develop the volunteer mentors and provide services to help these children maximize their potential and make the transition to responsible adulthood. “Technology is so advanced in today’s world and the “Computer Explorers” program is simply preparing our youth,” stated Teresa Cason, of Realty with Heart, who has been dedicated to Big Brothers Big Sisters for years and even donates 5% of her commissions to the organization. “Bringing Computer Explorers to BBBS is so important because it is offering technology training to children who are not fortunate enough to be exposed to technology on a regular basis.”

Donations on any level are appreciated and there are many sponsorship opportunities available. There is also plenty of booth space available for interested vendors. Any interested parties may contact Make My Day Event Planning at 302-422-9774 or visit them online at www.makemydayevents.net.

Anyone interested in pre-registering for space at a scrapbooking table may call Big Brothers Big Sisters to make a reservation: 302-856-2918. For further information on the “Computer Explorers” program, please visit www.computerexplorers.com.
